Biography: Origin began in 1996 when partners Debra Reiff and Luke Lehman started on a journey across the world in search of new, fresh jewelry designs to introduce to the American market. We charted a course through Europe, North Africa and the Middle East and along the way we met with many jewelry artisans with great cultural diversity; from an artist selling her amber creations in a street festival in Warsaw, to a vendor of tribal jewelry in a souk in Casablanca. More recent travels have brought us to sample the treasures of Asia as well. Having always had a love and respect for other cultures, we return after each trip filled with great visions of sharing our discoveries, and we named the company "Origin" as a representation of all the places and cultures jewelry design has its roots - from where it originates.

	Giving Back: Giving Back: We have always been socially conscious with great care and attention to our community. Our vision of helping to create a better world has led us to donate on an ongoing basis to many local charities including Second Harvest Food Bank and Western Service Workers; an organization that helps support the migrant workers and service industry sector of the working poor. We also continue sponsorship of two toddler girls in the Philippines so that they will have greater opportunities for better nutrition, health services, and education. Going Solar: In 2004, Origin put a photo-voltaic solar electric generating system on the roof of our office building, and now run our business on 100% clean, renewable energy. In addition, in our continuing efforts toward reducing landfill waste, we are now using 100% biodegradable packing materials.
